Tutoring with me is a very relaxed experience. Students usually come with discussion worksheets, homework problems, or test questions and we spend some time going over anything they are struggling with. Class materials give a tutoring session a jumping-off point but students do not need to have specific questions in mind to get started.
I take special care to explain everything as I go and I never skip steps. Additionally, any notes I take during a meeting can be saved by students to take with them at the end of the session. |

Physics 103She had unique ways to help me understand the material! |
Physics 208I really despised physics with every ounce of my being. Working on problems with Leslie made physics (almost) enjoyable and her tutoring is what resulted in me passing the class. Thanks Leslie!! |
Physics 103She was great at communicating topics to me. My grades improved a lot because of tutoring. |
About meMy name is Leslie Taylor and I graduated with my physics PhD in 2021 from UW-Madison. I began my physics career with a bachelors degree in physics from UC Berkeley in 2015. During my time there I volunteered as a study group leader for introductory physics and worked as a peer-to-peer tutor. In 2015 I spent a year as a high school physics teacher at Pittsburg High (Go Pirates!). I designed lesson plans, labs, and demonstrations for over 150 students. At UW-Madison I served two semesters as a TA for introductory electromagnetism. Since 2018 I have focused on individual physics tutoring. I love tutoring because it allows me to give students the individual help that they need and teach at a pace which is comfortable for them!
